Data Recovery Wizard 5.0.1 Reviews

When you open Data Recovery Wizardby EASEUS, its interface falls in line with some of the other data recovery software we’ve looked at. You’re greeted with a welcome screen that gives you three different routes you can take: Deleted File Recovery, Complete Recovery and Partition Recovery. Deleted File Recovery and Complete Recovery are options that you’re going to find in other programs, but Partition Recovery is unique. It’s hard to delete a partition accidentally, but if that does occur, it’s good to know that there’s a program out there that can help you recover the partitions you lost. We were pleased that this program took its time to find the files it was going to recover. Other programs don’t wait long before they spit out their half-hearted results.

☞ Feature Set:

As we stated before, Data Recovery Wizard gives you three different options to look for your lost files. They are broken down into levels you can choose from, depending on the severity of your data loss. If you need to recover a few files, you will go with Deleted File Recovery, but if you need to recover a large section of files, Partition Recovery is going to be your best bet. People who have lost everything on their system are going to want to go with Complete Recovery. If you switched the buttons for Partition Recovery and Complete Recovery, you would have the scan options for Data Recovery Wizard in order of severity.

A Deleted File Recovery scan doesn’t take long to complete, but it does take longer to complete scans using the Complete Recovery and Partition Recovery features. You have to consider the depth of the search Data Recovery Wizard performs with the Complete and Partition Recovery features. Data Recovery Wizard has to go through your computer with a fine toothed comb to find any files that might have slipped through the cracks. A program that takes forever to find your files and actually finds them is better than one that pushes fraudulent results onto you in a manner of moments.

☞ Ease of Use:

Since the menus in Data Recovery Wizard are broken into a step-by-step format, all you have to do is click through and go to the next step. There’s very little that you have to learn to be able to master Data Recovery Wizard. The process involved is nothing more than Data Recovery Wizard finding missing files on your hard drive and you choosing which ones you want back. That’s it. You don’t need to master a complex process or pour over reams of documentation. Everything you need to know about Data Recovery Wizard is laid out in front of your eyes in black and white.

☞ Recovery Effectiveness:

The effectiveness of the scanner in this program depends on what scan you perform. If you perform a Deleted File Recovery scan, you’re only going to be skimming the surface of your hard drive, but if you start a Complete Recovery scan, you will find every possible missing file you know of and some you might not be familiar with. It’s all a matter of the degree of severity of your data loss. You can’t expect to get everything you need back if you perform the lowest level of scan. You need to evaluate how much you have lost and go with the corresponding function in this program that’s going to help you find it.

☞ Help/Documentation:

EASEUS attached some pretty solid help and support options to this program. We would’ve liked to have seen them have a telephone support line or even a live chat support system. Customers want to have a choice of what option they’re going to use to contact the manufacturer. The more contact information a manufacturer offers, the more accessible they’re going to seem to the customer. A customer wants to know the company that made the program they chose has their back. EASEUS has the customer’s back, but they need to add more options to this section of their features to make sure that fact is even more well-known.

☞ Summary:

This program could benefit from having quicker scanning engines. It’s understandable that a thorough search is going to take a lot longer than one that doesn’t go too deep, but it shouldn’t take as long as what you will find with Data Recovery Wizard. Luckily, the results that it returns after it performs a lengthy scan are second to none. That being said, this program is still great data recovery software.
